Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about the Builders Presence system: what’s included, how it works, and what to expect.
About the plan
How fast will I see results?
The text-back and review asks start working the day you go live. Google rankings take months and depend on your market, your reviews and how long you’ve been around. This is the foundation. Use it, and keep your other lead sources running too.
What exactly do I get?
A contractor website (usually 10 to 20 pages), missed-call text back, review asks after every job, ready-to-send campaigns to past customers, local SEO, a business phone line, and a real person to text when something’s off.
Is there a contract?
No. Month to month. Stay because it works.
Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can send a text, you can run it. We set everything up and show you on a 25-minute call.
I get most of my work from word of mouth. Why do I need this?
Referrals look you up before they call. If they find nothing, or a site from ten years ago, some of them call someone else. We also ask your past customers for referrals, so word of mouth happens more often.
Will people find me on Google?
Every site is built with the SEO basics done right: keyword research, titles, headings, alt text, structured data, fast load times and secure hosting. Where you rank still depends on competition, reviews and time. We don’t promise number one. Anybody who does is selling you something.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel any month, no hard feelings. The site and the texting run on our platform, so they shut off when your plan ends.
Contractor website
I already have a website. Do I have to start over?
We rebuild it on our system so the forms and automations work. If you own your domain name, we point it at the new site and it keeps its address.
How many pages?
Enough to cover your services and the towns you serve. Most builds land between 10 and 20 pages.
5-star review system
Won’t customers find it annoying?
The reminders are few and far apart, and they stop the moment someone leaves a review or replies STOP.
Can you remove bad reviews?
No one can remove a real review. What we can do is make sure your happy customers outnumber them, and help you reply well.
Missed-call text back
Do I need a new phone number?
Usually yes: a business line we set up that forwards to your cell. It keeps work and personal separate, and it’s what makes the text-back possible.
Can I change what the text says?
Yes. We write it with you on the launch call and change it any time you want.
One-click campaigns
Is it legal to text my past customers?
We only send marketing texts to people who’ve agreed to hear from you, and every message has an easy opt-out. We’ll go over it on the launch call.
How often do campaigns go out?
As often as you choose. Most contractors run one every month or two.
Local SEO
How long until I rank?
It depends on your competition, your reviews and how long your site has been around. Think months, not weeks. Review requests and your Google profile help a lot.
Do you do backlinks and ads?
Advanced SEO and Google Ads are separate add-ons. We’ll tell you on the call whether they make sense yet.
Business phone
Can I keep my current number?
Often, yes. Numbers can usually be ported over. We’ll check yours on the call.
Is there a limit on calls or texts?
Normal business use is covered. If you plan big text campaigns, we’ll talk through it first.
By trade
Can the system handle storm-season call spikes?
Yes. Every missed call gets a text within seconds, so a flood of calls turns into a list of text threads you can work through between jobs.
Can after-hours callers reach me for emergencies?
Yes. The missed-call text can ask whether it’s an emergency and share your after-hours line, so urgent calls reach you and routine ones wait for morning.
Can you promote my maintenance plan?
Yes. The plan gets its own page, and seasonal reminders go to past customers who aren’t on one yet.
Will my license number show on the site?
Yes, if you want it there. License and insurance details go where homeowners look for them.
Can the site show before-and-after photos?
Yes. Before-and-after galleries are one of the best selling tools in landscaping, and we build them from your own phone photos.
Remodels take months to close. Does follow-up help?
That’s where it helps most. Open estimates get a friendly check-in so they don’t go cold while the homeowner thinks it over.
How do my job photos get on the site?
Send them from your phone. We add them to your gallery and the matching service pages.
I do lots of small jobs. Is this worth it for me?
Lots of small jobs means lots of calls and lots of chances for reviews. Catching every call and asking every customer adds up quickly.
Can I show starting prices?
Yes, if that’s how you sell. Some washers do well with starting-at prices on the site; we’ll set it up the way you quote.
Can the system remind customers about recurring visits?
Yes. Reminder texts keep recurring customers on the schedule and give them an easy way to reschedule.
Storm calls come in all at once. What happens to the ones I miss?
Each one gets a text back in seconds asking what happened and where, so you can triage by text instead of playing phone tag.
My jobs are big and few. Does the system still fit?
Yes. With big jobs, one missed lead or one stale estimate costs a lot. The text-back and estimate follow-up protect every one.
See it run before you spend a dime
